SAS-Lers,

I've been asked by some of you to be more specific regarding the Person A job description and compensation package alluded to in my earlier post:

One of Person A's primary responsibilities will be ferreting out and verifying data sources to feed the information delivery system. Person A will be hired as a business analyst with a competitive salary and an outstanding benefits package.

Amplified Job Description:

We want this SAS System Savvy person to be a detective's detective. Person A will be given the political support and resources to track down every scrap of data--no matter how voluminous or thoughtlessly it has been recorded/stored--that has any bearing on providing useful _INFORMATION_ to help guide business decisions. Major efforts have already gone into building Data Warehouses, Data Marts and Automated Reporting Systems and these efforts continue. Person A's focus will be on filling the gaps. Decision Makers's information needs change--sometimes rapidly.

Amplified Compensation Package Description:

Person A will be working with a World Class Team--one of the most profitable divisions in one of the World's most profitable corporations. Not only that, Person A will be privy to the very information that informs the decisions of that division--often being the one that tracked that specific datum down! If you want to understand how a World Class Business is actually run, come help us build a World Class Information Delivery System. If you want to use your SAS System skills to pursue a career in business management, this just might be what you are seeking. 20 years ago when I got my first SAS System Consulting gig (they thought I was an employee, but I knew I was really a consultant) I thought I had found an opportunity to get a serious business education; this opportunity is light years beyond my first gig as Manpower Planning Coordinator for a large bank. In fact, from the perspective of 20 years worth of consulting engagements, this full-time position has the most business educational potential I have ever encountered. Call me and I'll tell you more about such details as benefits and salary policy, etc..

Do you know any highly skilled SAS System professionals who would like to become full-time employees of one of the most profitable divisions of one of the world's most profitable corporations? If so, pass this message on to them. One of our clients in Atlanta wants to hire two full-time employees, a business analyst and a project manager, to help build a world class information delivery system. This client will pay relocation expenses.

This 18 month project involves creating highly automated SAS reporting/OLAP systems for a Fortune 10 Corporation in a heterogeneous computing environment (MVS, UNIX, and Windows NT servers with Windows 95 on the desktop).

Person A should have solid SAS/Base experience as well as real world experience with SAS/Connect, SAS/AF, SAS/EIS, SAS/MDDB, SAS/Stat and significant understanding of Data Warehousing concepts. Person A should also understand the SAS story well enough to want to keep up with new developments in the SAS System (e.g. SAS/Intrnet and Enterprise Reporter) and should be prepared to demonstrate that they have. One of Person A's primary responsibilities will be ferreting out and verifying data sources to feed the information delivery system. Person A will be hired as a business analyst with a competitive salary and an outstanding benefits package.

Person B should understand the SAS story well enough to want to manage an all SAS System project with several persons like person A working together to create a World Class automated reporting/OLAP system based entirely on the SAS System. Person B will be hired as a regular full-time management employee of the Fortune 10 client with a highly competitive salary, bonus plan and an outstanding benefits package. If you are interested in either opportunity, contact Joe Whitehurst.
