The research is collaborative, as multi-disciplinary teams of researchers, including biostatisticians, epidemiologists, behavioral scientists, etc., work together from the start of a project. The incumbent will be encoraged to do his/her own methodological research, as it relates to the overall mission of the branch. He/she will also be encoraged to publish as a result of the collaborative intervention research, as well as his/her own methodological research.

Three to five years of research experience with large, complex data sets required. Substantial experience with SAS including extensive data step programming required. Substantial experience in PC-SAS programming for complex statistical analysis including ANOVA, Proc GLM, and logistic regression required. Some experience with SAS-Graph and manuscript preparation desired. Knowledge of IBM-PC compatible computers (Windows) and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Power Point). Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required. Hands-on abilities in data manipulation and specification, and good documentation skills required. Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to negotiate simultaneous priorities and work as integral member of a research team are crucial.
