Duties:

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Sr. Statistical Programmer will develop SAS code and applications to solve problems and to meet project and department needs, primarily for programs used in the presentation and analysis of data collected in clinical trials. Interact directly with IS, Biostatisticians, Clinical Data Mangers, Statistical Programmers, Clinical Development staff, and management as the leader and technical advisor of a project programming team. Direct and coordinate activities of programmers assigned to a project. Perform quality assurance checks of code and outputs. Constructs estimates of project programming resource requirements, timelines, and routinely brief management on team accomplishments, status, and issues. Apply expert skills in writing SAS code to produce listings, tables, and figures and developing GUI applications. Make technical presentations on topics relevant to your area of technical expertise including SAS training. Apply substantive knowledge of medical data, the design and phases of clinical trials, statistics, relevant FDA regulations, and the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries to the implementation of tasks. Work independently under general supervision.

    This position will be responsible for providing SAS programming, validation, application development, technical support, and training. Responsible for performing the leadership role in designing programming strategies and SAS code for applications designed to analyze and report data as specified by Biostatisticians, Statistical Programmers, and other Clinical staff. Responsible for choosing coding strategies that efficiently and effectively uses programming staff time to achieve project technical goals within budget and timeline constraints while assuring high quality standards. Responsible for leading and managing technical operations on project teams including: estimating programming resource requirements and timelines, delegating tasks appropriately, tracking progress, and routinely briefing management on team accomplishments, status, and issues.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: BS/MS in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
