Contract SAS Programmer (Junior to Mid-Level)
Small consulting firm in search of a SAS programmer for a 6-9 month
assignment to help support a large government client. Situation
requires a junior to mid-level contract SAS programmer to work on-site
within the production group and be responsible for the execution and
trouble shooting of existing SAS applications.
The work requires large scale batch data processing of economic and demographic
data in a UNIX environment.
The ideal candidate will possess SAS expertise, a strong
systems background, and good communication skills.
Requirements:
Several years of experience with UNIX required (i.e., Solaris)
3-7 years of programming experience in Base SAS (i.e., data step programming, and SAS Macro Language).

Length: Initial term: 6 months + extension
Rate: $45.00 - 55.00 per hour ($93,600 - 114,400 annualized)
Provide statistical programming support and validation, and help set
specifications of analysis datasets, pooled datasets, statistical tables,
summaries, figures and listings for Phase II-IV Clinical Trials related to
efficacy in ABH (Arthritis/Bone/HRT), CVM&G
(Cardiovascular/Metabolic/Endocrine/Gastrointestinal) and RDI
(Respiratory/Dermatology/Infectious Diseases) studies. Employ
standardized programs where applicable. Provide input into planning
documents such as the protocol, validation plan, and report and
analysis plan. Provide outputs for clinical study reports, integrated
summaries, and electronic submissions. Help respond to health

REQUIREMENTS: BA/BS or equivalent experience in computer
science, mathematics, statistics, life sciences, or related field(s).
Intermediate SAS programming skills, with 2-5 years experience in a
medical setting, preferably working with clinical trials data. Good
understanding of clinical trial practices, procedures and
methodologies. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good
interpersonal and organizational skills. Attention to detail and
correctness. Working knowledge of office tools. MS in Statistics a
plus.
