JOB: Contract SAS Programmer - Northern NJ
Duration: 12+ months

JOB:
Pharmaceutical Experience (preferably 5+ years) working as a programmer
Experience working with Phase III trials
Experience with Efficacy + Safety (Generating analysis data sets and tables/listings/figures)
Experience with Integration (ISS/ISE)
Statistical Degree (not a must but always a plus)

JOB:
Highly knowledgeable and proficient in the application of the essential concepts, components, and rules of the SAS
Language and clinical trial analysis and reporting tasks.
Proficient in performing retrievals of data from ORACLE. Highly experienced with importing and exporting files to and
from SAS and with performing complex data step programming using many of the features and functions of SAS/BASE.
Highly experienced manipulating data and producing customized reports using the following SAS/BASE procedures: SORT,
TRANSPOSE, DATASETS, COPY, FORMAT, PRINTTO, PRINT, REPORT, and TABULATE. Highly experienced with the SAS/BASE descriptive
statistic procedures including UNIVARIATE, MEANS, SUMMARY, and FREQ.
Very experienced using many of the common analytical SAS/STAT procedures including FREQ, LOGISTIC, CATMOD, MIXED, GLM,
ANOVA, TTEST, REG, LIFETEST, PHREG, NPAR1WAY.
Very experienced with the options, device drivers, statements, and common presentation procedures of SAS/GRAPH including
GPLOT and GCHART. Should also be familiar with the SAS/GRAPH ANNOTATE facility. Highly experienced using the variables, program
statements and functions associated with MACRO facility and with MACRO efficiency and debugging. Experienced working on multiple
operating systems including Windows NT/2000, Unix, and MacOS.

Assoc. Dir. Statistical Programming - Full Time - Boston, MA

The Associate Director will lead and manage Statistical Programming technical and functional responsibilities for
selected clinical development programs and for company wide innovation and infrastructure building activities,
including and quality and compliance initiatives. They will direct and implement analysis and reporting solutions
for pre-clinical and clinical areas and for regulatory electronic clinical data submissions.
The Associate Director is responsible for implementation of assigned projects and services, with optimal efficiency,
through effective leadership, as well as the work performance and technical development of their staff. The Associate
Director will foster interdisciplinary understanding within the groups and integrate activities with those of other
groups, departments and project teams, wherever possible.
Manage activities of the group across project boundaries when appropriate.
Provide functional leadership and technical support to the group and project teams.
Help craft department goals and ensure linkage to personal goals in support of the corporate and departmental goals.
Monitors the activities of staff and provides them reliable guidance to succeed and grow.
Proactively makes recommendations to appropriate business units regarding the development and use of new tools and goals that
further support and strengthen development capabilities.
Communicates company objectives to the group in a clear and timely manner.
Tunes group activities to company priorities, and adapts resources as needed, to ensure key goals are met on time.
Develops draft budgets and manages approved budgets for group(s).
Makes hiring decisions.
Seeks out and plans technical direction for the group and promotes technical innovation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Is required to supervise other Statistical Programming staff, with all incumbent supervisory responsibilities.
Has demonstrated outstanding diligence and competence in technical and managerial roles.
Displays highly developed organizational leadership qualities.
Demonstrates innovation and creativity in aligning technology with and driving line of business objectives.
Proven ability to plan and manage capital and operating budgets, as well as plan and advocate staffing resources.
Possesses a distinguished record of enabling the goals of Statistical Programming projects.Proactively solves complex
problems within their area and identifies areas for process improvements.
B.S. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field and 10 plus years of SAS programming and relevant
pharmaceutical industry experience. OR M.S. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field and 8 plus
years of SAS programming and relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.
