Can some one tell me how to subscribe SAS list server? By F.J. Kelley
Email: jkelley@ARCHES.UGA.EDU

SAS-L is a "peered" list. that means it resides on several Listservers and whatever is posted to one will be reposted to the others. It is also gated to the newsgroup "comp.soft-sys.sas".

Below is a portion of the FAQ maintained by Tim Berryhill:

Q) How do I read the messages?
The easiest way is to read the newsgroup comp.soft-sys.sas.

To have the messages mailed to you as they are available, send e-mail to any of the mail servers:

  • listserv@vm.marist.edu Marist University
  • listserv@listserv.vt.edu Virginia Polytechnic University
  • listserv@listserv.uga.edu University of Georgia
  • listserv@AKH-WIEN.AC.AT University of Vienna

The subject line is ignored and the body should contain the command: subscribe sas-l your name here
e.g. subscribe sas-l Tom Smith is how Tom Smith would subscribe.

If you would like to use the "mirrored site - comp.soft-sys.sas", here is a few options in order to use your browser (via internet) to view/post messages to comp.soft-sys.sas:

A Brand NEW Approach as of 3/7/2000 using your browser to access SAS-L - and my recommended method to read, reply and post to SAS-L!

Point your browser to http://www.listserv.uga.edu/archives/sas-l.html. And Register your email address first before you can reply to SAS-L postings, then reply to confirming confirmation email, and you are all set to browse SAS-L directly as well as search past postings with the search facility!!!

Take a look at the SAS Online Video Tutorials ( www.sconsig.com) and download the video to see how to access SAS-L via a web browser

Good Luck and look forward to your contributions to SAS-L.
